Ayodhya is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama.
With a history of over 6,000 years, Ayodhya was once the capital of the ancient Ikshvaku dynasty.
Ayodhya is one of the seven holiest cities in Hinduism, where pilgrims believe they can attain spiritual liberation.
The city gained attention due to the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute, which culminated in the 2019 Supreme Court ruling for a Ram Temple.
Ayodhya is home to many temples, including the Kanak Bhavan, dedicated to Lord Rama and Sita.
The Sarayu River, mentioned in the Ramayana, is sacred, and pilgrims bathe in it for purification.
With the Ram Temple’s construction, Ayodhya is becoming a major pilgrimage and tourism center.
